Ambassador Gábor Iklódy met with the Director Col Tamm to discuss CCD COE’s products, activities and its overall role in the framework of NATO’s new cyber defence policy. “I will be glad to help increase CCD COE visibility and connectivity in the Alliance by facilitating requests for support within the NATO cyber defence community” Ambassador Iklódy noted.
In November 2010, in the Lisbon Summit Declaration NATO Heads of State and Government agreed to enhance NATO’s cyber defence capabilities. NATO’s new Strategic Concept adopted in Lisbon gives far more prominence to cyber defence than any previous NATO document.
Ambassador Iklódy is NATO’s Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges. He is the Secretary General’s primary advisor on emerging security challenges and their potential implications for the security of the Alliance. The Division will play an important role in the implementation of the new Strategic Concept, as well as in the development of a strategic analysis capability to enable the Alliance to better anticipate crisis situations and assess risks.
