NATO Secretary General, Mr Anders Fogh Rasmussen visited the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence on 19th of January 2012 as part of his working visit to Estonia.
Director of the Centre, Colonel Ilmar Tamm introduced the Centre and its activities to the Secretary General’s delegation. The introduction was followed by a discussion between the delegation and the representatives from the Centre, Estonian Ministry of Defence and Estonian Defence Forces on the NATO cyber defence and Centre’s future plans.
Mr Rasmussen stressed the importance of cyber security in NATO and the Estonian Minister of Defence emphasised the value of cooperation between nations.
NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence is one of many NATO Centres of Excellence. Its mission is to enhance the capability, cooperation and information sharing among NATO, it’s member nations and partners in cyber defence by virtue of education, research and development, lessons learned and consultation.
