Centre Contributed to the New Estonian Cyber Security Strategy

In late 2014, Estonia published its updated national cyber security strategy for 2014-2017.  NATO CCD COE was involved in the drafting process in a consulting role.

The comprehensive document summarises Estonia’s recent and current cyber security efforts, assesses threats and outlines measures to manage these threats. The strategy continues the implementation of many of the goals of the previous Cyber Security Strategy (2008), while updating the threat landscape and being more specific of the current needs.

The strategy lists five sub goals for the next four years: ensuring the protection of vital services, enhancing the fight against cyber crime, developing national cyber defence capabilities, managing evolving threats, and developing cross-sectorial activities.
