CyCon Registration Now Closed

Registration for the 7th Conference on Cyber Conflict is now closed. CyCon, the annual Conference on Cyber Conflict, opens next week. Conference agenda is available on https://ccdcoe.org/cycon/agenda.html.

There is a lot to look forward to at this year’s CyCon. Confirmed speakers at CyCon 2015 include Estonian president Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Admiral Michael S. Rogers of the U.S. Cyber Command and National Security Agency, and Assistant Secretary General of NATO Ambassador Sorin Ducaru as well as numerous academics, industry leaders and cyber experts.

One of this year’s highlights is a keynote speech by Admiral Michael S. Rogers, Commander of the U.S. Cyber Command and Director of the National Security Agency as well as Chief of Central Security Service. The Agency protects America’s vital national security information and systems, provides information assurance expertise in defending computer systems and generates the standards and approaches for defence capability. The U.S. Cyber Command is tasked with generating cyber defensive and offensive mission force and providing capability to defend critical U.S. infrastructure. The command may also be directed to conduct cyber operations to deter or defeat strategic threats in other domains.

The annual NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence conference, held in Tallinn, Estonia on May 26-29 will focus on the construction of the Internet and its potential future development. The topic “Architectures in Cyberspace” asks what cyberspace is, what will it be in the coming years, as well as how it relates to cyber security. Issues debated will vary from technical to legal, strategy and policy. The pre-conference workshop day, May 26, features a variety of policy discussions and technical trainings.
